G-Shock GW-A1100
New Sky Cockpit Model For Summer 2013
G-Shock is adding the final touches to a new Sky Cockpit model that's due to hit stores this summer.
Known as the GW-A1100, the watch is an updated version of the highly-acclaimed GA-1000FC, which it will take the throne from as the flagship model of G-Shock's elite line of aviation watches. With the exception of a thermometer, the GW-A1100 is packed with the same innovative features as its predecessor, including Multiband 6 capability, Tough Solar power, and Smart Access technology, all inside a slightly larger, much more busier-looking case. What it has that the 1000FC doesn't is a carbon fiber second hand for added stability during extreme gravitational pulls, and Casio's unique Multi Mission Drive operating system, which operates five separate motors to move the hands independently for a restriction free setup. Neobrite technology provides continuous illumination in low-light conditions with the help of an auto UV light.
Casio Japan reports that the G-Shock GW-A1100 is slated to begin hitting retailers on June 28th, initially in Black/Red and Black/Green color options. Additional colors, such as a Black/Blue model with a composite bracelet, will follow soon after. Suggested retail price will be 65,000 yen, which, according to today's currency rate, amounts to $657 USD.
